National Day of Prayer - A Prayer For Our Nation

Heavenly Father,

As a Nation, we bow before you on humbled knee. Thank you for the opportunity we have to live in a nation where we are free to worship you openly.

Forgive us for ignoring our Christian heritage. Forgive us for killing our unborn children. Have mercy on our country for ignoring your existence in our independent living.

We lift up President Obama to you. Cause him to turn to you as he faces these turbulent times. Surround him with Godly advisors to help along the way.

We pray for the great state of Colorado and her inhabitants. We praise you for her glorious mountain peaks, breathtaking sunsets and balmy weather. We pray in jobs for all those who are looking. May they find good places of employment. Bless the employers of Colorado with extra positions and funding for good benefit packages.

Bless the government of our state – from the governor to the mayors and all who make policy. May they govern with Godly wisdom and discernment.

Protect our military worldwide. Send your angels to shield them from harm as their hearts turn towards you. We pray that you would not only protect their bodies, but their marriages and families as well.

Thank you for our strong police force. We pray for their protection today and throughout the year. May they serve with strength and honor.

Father, bless your houses of worship. May they be filled with all who love and serve you. Turn our hearts back to you, our Creator. Send a revival so true and pure that every church is filled to capacity with both your Spirit and your followers.
